École hôtelière de Lausanne

The École hôtelière de Lausanne (EHL, French for "Hotel School of Lausanne") is an "applied science" university for hotel management in Switzerland. It offers an education at university level (MBA) in "hospitality management". Its undergraduate degree, a Bachelor of Science in hospitality management, is recognized by the U.S. New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC).

The school had been founded in 1893 with 27 (male) students in the first year. In 1924, the first woman enrolled as a student at the EHL. In 1975, the school moved into its current campus at Chalet-à-Gobet near Lausanne.

In 2001, there were about 1000 students of 58 different nationalities studying on campus (slightly more than 50% women), and another roughly 600 were doing internships abroad as part of their education at EHL.
