12 Stones

12 Stones is a four-piece Rock band, formed in New Orleans in 2000, and which, by 2004, has released two albums. The first was an eponymous release in 2002; the second, Potter's Field, in 2004. 12 Stones recorded "Let Go" for the "Daredevil" movie album and Paul was featured in the successful duet "Bring Me to Life" with Amy Lee, of Evanescence. The first single "Far Away", from the long awaited second album Potter's Field was well-received. Also Paul wrote the song "Photograph" about the suicide of his younger sister's friend to emphasize the positive of doing something to make your circumstances better instead of seeing death as a way out. The name of the band is a reflection of their strong Christian values. As stated on their official website, the stones are taken metaphorically from the 12 stones in the Hoshen, a breastplate worn by the High Priest of Levitical order in the Old Testament. In an interview on the national television special 'Broken TV', Paul McCoy explained that the band's name is a reference to the 12 stones that the Israelites erected after they crossed the Jordan River. McCoy also stated in an interview with Christian Music Review that their name is also significant to the 12 disciples that followed Jesus. So as the name denotes their character, the many faceted views that define them cannot contain them.
