American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers

(Redirected from ASHRAE)

The American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) is an international voluntary organization for people involved in heating, ventilation, air conditioning, or refrigeration (HVAC&R). The society helps to provide its members access to HVAC&R technology and opportunities to participate in the development of such technology.

The ASHRAE Handbook is a four-volume resource for HVAC&R technology. One of the four volumes is updated each year.

The ASHRAE Journal is a monthly magazine published by the ASHRAE. It includes articles on the practical application of HVAC&R technology, information on upcoming meetings and shows, classified advertising, and editorials. Members of the ASHRAE receive the magazine free of charge.

ASHRAE was formed in 1959 by the merging of two societies: the American Society of Heating and Air-Conditioning Engineers and the American Society of Refrigerating Engineers.
