Abu al-Qasim Muhammad ibn Abbad, or Abbad I, was born in the 10th century and died in 1042. He was a Spanish Muslim administrator who, famously, declared Seville independent of the Spanish province Córdoba in 1023. He was the first independent Muslim ruler of Seville (his reign dating 1023-1042). He was the founder and eponym of the Abbadid dynasty.
