Abbad III al-Mu'tamid was born in the eleventh century to the Moorish ruler of Seville called Abbad II al-Mu'tadid. Hence, when he died he inherited this relatively new kingdom (his grandfather, Abbad I had founded it) and became Muslim ruler of Seville in 1068 in 1071 he attempted at seizing the surrounding area and kingdom called Córdoba. He lost Córdoba in 1075 but regained it in 1078. After another decade his whole kingdom was overthrown (both Seville and Córdoba) and he was deposed. He may also be noted as a poet.
