Alatriste

Alatriste is a film-in-progress by the Spanish director Agustín Díaz Yanes , based on the main character of a series of novels written by Arturo Pérez-Reverte, Las aventuras del Capitán Alatriste (The Adventures of Captain Alatriste in English).

The film, which is starred by Viggo Mortensen, is the most expensive Spanish-lingo film ever made in Spain (about €20 million – US$26 million), and describes the Spain of the 17th century using both fictional and real characters. Twentieth Century Fox has taken the rights on the film.
