Aleardo terzi

Aleardo Terzi (1870-1943) was an Italian illustrator and artist.

He was born in Palermo, Italy. He died in Castelletto ticino in 1943.

He taught fine art at the Accadamia di Belle Arti in Bologna. His most famous student was the influential painter Mario Tozzi (1859-1979), whom he trained from 1911-1913.

As an illustrator, Terzi was described as bringing art nouveau poster design to a world class level. He produced work throughout his life, noteably for the Italian poster company Ricordi. Sadly, most of his work was destroyed in the 1960s when the company cleared its warehouses.

He illustrated an italian version of Little Lord Fauntleroy and Gulliver's Travels.
