Born in Ivanteyevka, Moscow Oblast, Russian SFSR on September 28, 1940. Married with one child. Selected as a cosmonaut on March 27 1973. Retired on November 3, 1993.

Flew as Flight Engineer on Soyuz 29 and Soyuz T-6.
