Alex Briley

Alexander Briley (Alex) performed in the G.I./Military Man role of Village People. Briley was raised in Harlem and later Mount Vernon, New York. A minister's son, he sang in church from an early age and studied voice at the University of Hartford. Briley performed with jazz flautist Bobby Humphrey and was featured in the Off-Broadway shows Music Magic and Althol Fugard 's drama A Lesson From Aloes .

Briley was introduced to Jacques Morali by Victor Willis . He arranged most of the vocals and harmonies used by Village people. Briley originally performed in jeans and a t-shirt but when the group recorded In The Navy he appeared as a sailor and subsequently took on the role of a soldier.

In 2004 he was reportedly living in Westchester, New York and was a member of the Board of Directors of Sixuvus Ltd. (the Village People corporation).
