Alex Kingston (born March 11, 1963 in London) is a British actress best known for her role as Elizabeth Corday in ER.

Kingston has appeared in a number of television dramas, including Crocodile Shoes , Moll Flanders and The Knock .

Film credits include The Cook, the Thief, His Wife & Her Lover (1989), A Pin for the Butterfly (1994), Croupier (1998), and Boudica (2003).

Kingston attended the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts where she met actor Ralph Fiennes. They married in 1993, but divorced in 1997. She married her second husband Florian Haertel in 1998, and they have one child, Salome Violetta, who was born in March 2001.
