Alex Scott (born 1940) is the premier of Bermuda and the leader of the Progressive Labour Party since July 29 2003. He achieved these positions when the PLP government was re-elected in parliamentary elections, and the leader and premier at that time, Jennifer Meredith Smith was overthrown in a revolt within the party and replaced by Scott.The current Premier of Bermuda is Alex Scott. He was the second premier for the PLP. The role he plays as premier is that he makes the decisions pertaining to the economy and structure of the Country. He is the liaises with the Governor on Bermuda’s issues. He also asks on behalf of his political party he is the head of the party.
