Alice, Girl from the Future

Alice, Girl of the Future, also known as Alice, the Girl from Earth, is a science-fiction book for children. The story has a very deep philosophical context, something typical of literature based on the works of Arkadii and Boris Strugazki.

A long time ago, the Tree Captains roamed the universe, leaving behind traces of themselves and spreading the word and tools of progress (it must be noted that all books of this time had to be subscribe to communist ideology else the author could face serious and/or fatal consequences). The Earth is prosperous and technologically advanced, living in peace with the rest of the galaxy. The book is written from a kindergartners point of view. Alice's father starts on a quest to find the one remaining Captain after a conversation with an alien friend of his.
