Anei

An'ei (安永) was a Japanese era after Meiwa and before Tenmei and spanned from 1772 to 1782. The reigning emperors were Go-Momozono and Kōkaku.

Change of Era

Due to the enthronement of Emperor Go-Momozono and continuing damages from fires and storms, on Meiwa 9, known as the Trouble Year, the era became the An'ei (Peaceful eternity).
