Antipope Christopher

Christopher was Antipope circa September 901 to January 904, probably dying that year. He was a priest who led a coup against Pope Leo V, reigning for some four months. Christopher's successor, Sergius III, deposed and jailed him. Sergius possibly ordered the strangling of both Leo and Christopher. According to another version, Christopher spent the remainder of his life as a monk.
