Anton Schweitzer

Anton Schweitzer (1735 - 1787) was a successful composer of operas.

He was a child prodigy who obtained the patronage of a nobleman, enabling him to tour Europe. His most notable work is Alceste (1773), with libretto by Christoph Martin Wieland.
