Arete (mythology)

In Greek mythology, Queen Arete of Scheria was a queen of the Phaeacians, wife of Alcinous and mother of Nausicaa and Laodamas. She welcomed Odysseus and treated him hospitably. (See Odyssey VII,54, 66, 141, 233)
