Banda

This page is about music. You may be looking for the Banda Islands or Banda Sea in Indonesia, or the town and district of Banda in India, or the town of Banda in Ghana

Banda is a brass-based form of traditional Mexican music. Established in the late 1960s in Sinaloa, a state in northern Mexico, banda music exploded in popularity in the late 1990s throughout Mexico and in the southwest United States, primarily in Texas and California, but also in the Midwest states of Iowa, Kansas, and Illinois. Thanks to the rapidly rising popularity of La Banda Sinaloense, the genre has taken on a different role.

La Banda el Recodo, El Coyote, and Julio Preciado are the most famous banda artists.
