The Battle of Mount Gilboa described in the Biblical Book of Samuel [1] (1 Samuel 31), was a battle between the Israelites and the Philistines. According to the Biblical account, the Israelite King Saul was defeated and killed here, along with three of his sons (including Jonathan).
