Battle of Velasco

The Battle of Velasco was fought June 26, 1832 between Texas and Mexico prior to the Texas Revolution. The Mexican commander during the conflict, Domingo de Ugartechea, tried to stop the Texans from transporting a cannon to Anahuac. The Texans, led by John Austin and Henry Smith, eventually prevailed when the Mexicans ran out of munitions. The casualties for the battle numbered at 8-10 dead and a dozen wounded for the Texans, and 5 killed and 15 injured for the Mexicans.
