Beast (roller coaster)

The Beast is a wooden roller coaster located at Paramount's Kings Island near Cincinnati, Ohio. It is currently the longest wooden roller coaster in both track length and ride time. Until the opening of another Kings Island's in 2000 (Son of Beast) it was also the fastest wooden roller coaster in the world.

The Beast has been constantly rated as one of the top roller coasters in the world since its birth, having earned itself a cult-like following amongst some coaster enthusiasts. For over a decade it was the main attraction at Paramount's Kings Island, located at the rear of the park and easily found by following the painted paw prints on some of the park's pathways.

To date, over 33,000,000 riders have had a chance to experience it.

2 Due to its construction (follows the contours of the land), the drop is larger than its height.

History

The Beast became the world's longest wooden roller coaster when it opened its queue on Friday April 13, 1979.
