Bloomers (musical comedy troupe)

Founded in 1979 at the University of Pennsylvania, in Philadelphia, Bloomers is one of the only (perhaps the only) all-female musical comedy troupes in the United States. The group's material is written, directed, and performed entirely by undergraduate women. Major shows occur in the fall and spring, with occasional performances for charity events or at comedy clubs.

The group was named for newspaper editor and women's rights pioneer Amelia Jenks Bloomer.
