A blot can refer to several different things.

• In biology, a blot is a method of transferring proteins, DNA, RNA or protein onto a carrier. The following types are known:
  • Southern blot to recognize DNA
  • Northern blot to recognize RNA
  • Western blot to recognize proteins
  • Southwestern blot
• In the board game backgammon a blot is an unprotected checker.
• In Norse mythology and Ásatrú, a blót is a sacred meal shared with the gods.
