Blue Hole

Blue Hole is a diving location on west Sinai in the Red Sea.

The Blue Hole is a submarine Pothole (a kind of cave) with ~50 meter wide, ~100 meter deep opening just offshore and just underwater. The hole itself and the surrounding area has an abundance of Coral and Reef fish. The Blue Hole is unsuitable for novice divers, due to the complete lack of sea floor at the moderate depths which novice divers can reach.

The adjacent shore is lined with restraunts and Snorkel hire shops. SCUBA tours are avaliable from nearby Dahab. It is also a toilet stop on several camel treks. The access road is 4 wheel drive only (the taxis in Dahab are mainly jeeps and should have no difficulty).

Saudi Arabia is clearly visible across the Red Sea.
