Brasserie d'Orval

Brasserie d'Orval is a Belgian brewery located within the walls of the Orval monastery. A few years after the reconstruction of the monastery (which began in 1926), the monks decided to set up a brewery. It employed laicist inhabitants from Orval. The first master brewer was a German named Pappenheimer. The company (dissociated from the monastery) only sells one trappist beer (Orval).
