Celia S. Friedman (born January 12, 1957) is a writer of science fiction.
She writes epic novels which are complex interweavings of rich plot and immensely detailed worlds. The plots of many of her novels deal indirectly with the concept of vampirism. It can also be said that her plots explore the psychological trappings and baggage of the protagonist, moving from a chaotic beginning to a self-accepting whole.
While writing The Wilding , Celia was noted to say that she had never planned on writing a sequel, and that it was very strange to do so for In Conquest Born . As ICB was her first major published novel, it was strange to pick up that 'universe' and write a story twenty years later.
Her books include:
- In Conquest Born 1986
- The Madness Season 1990
- The Coldfire Trilogy
- Black Sun Rising 1991
- When True Night Falls 1993
- Crown of Shadows 1995
- This Alien Shore 1998
- The Erciyes Fragments 1998
- The Wilding 2004 (Sequel to In Conquest Born)
