Council for the Central Laboratory of the Research Councils

The Council for the Central Laboratory of the Research Councils (CCLRC or CLRC) is a UK government body that carries out civil research in science and engineering.

It employs about 1700 staff at three locations:

The Diamond Light Source is being built on the Rutherford Appleton site. Funded by CCLRC and the Wellcome Trust, it is due to open in 2006.
