Calyon

Calyon is the corporate and investment banking subsidiary of the Crédit Agricole (CA) banking group, primarily serving clients operating outside of France. After the acquisition of Crédit Lyonnais by Crédit Agricole in 2003, Crédit Agricole Indosuez (CAI) and the investment banking business of Crédit Lyonnais merged, giving birth to Calyon. This merger took place on May 1 2004.

CLSA

Calyon's securities business in Asia retains the name CLSA (formerly Crédit Lyonnais Securities Asia).

Name

The origins of the company are represented in its name: 'CA' for the initials of Crédit Agricole and 'lyon' for Lyonnais.
