Cantona

Cantona is an archaeological site in Mexico that is relatively unknown. It is located in the border between the states of Veracruz and Puebla, in the vicinity of Libres , about an hour's drive from the city of Puebla.

Cantona is unique among archaeological sites in Mexico as it is an entire city built of stones, with no mortar in the joints, just the same weight of the stones hold everything in place.

It has not been fully excavated, around 10% of the site can be seen, but of what has been unearthed, there are 20 ball game courts, and several small pyramids.

It is believed to have been a military city. However, there is still much to learn about Cantona.
