Carl Skoglund (1884—1960) was a Swedish Socialist. He came to the US in 1911 and helped found the American Communist Party. Skoglund helped translate the works of Karl Marx from German to English. He was expelled from the Communist Party in 1928 for opposing Stalinism and supporting Trotsky and Bolshevik-Leninism.
Carl Skoglund helped the American Trotskyite James P. Cannon, (also expelled from the CP) to found the Socalist Workers' Party in 1938. Skoglund was one of the 18 SWP leaders imprisoned in World War II under the Smith Act. The US goverment tried to deport him in the 1950s.
