Carlos Alberto Torres (born July 17, 1944), better known simply as Carlos Alberto, was a Brazilian football player. A defender, he captained Brazil to victory in the 1970 World Cup. On the club level, Carlos Alberto played for Fluminense, Santos, and the New York Cosmos. He was Pelé's teammate with the latter two clubs.
Carlos Alberto was named by Pelé as one of the top 125 greatest living footballers in March 2004. He is now the head coach of the Azerbaijan national team.
