Carlton, Victoria

Carlton is a suburb located north-east of the city of Melbourne, Australia. It was founded in 1851, during the Gold Rush. Its population is 17,052 (including 7,977 in Carlton North in 1986). The town is noted for its diverse population of Italians, and Jewish immigrants

It is home for some of Melbourne's most historically significant buildings such as Melbourne Trades Hall and the World Heritage Site of the Carlton Gardens and Royal Exhibition Building.
