The sea grape ('Caulerpa racemosa') is a form of edible seaweed from the Caulerpaceae family. It is a green alga with a peppery taste. It is eaten mainly in Indonesian cuisine, sometimes fresh, and othertimes coated in sugar. Unconfirmed reports claim that the alkaloid Caulerpin found in sea grapes can sometimes cause poisoning.
