Challenge is a British digital TV channel owned by Flextech. Originally starting out as 'The Family Channel' its entire output consists of various game shows taken from a variety of sources, including some they made themselves. Challenge also has interactive features for certain shows of some digital platforms. This enables viewers to "play-along" at home. Shows on Challenge include Takeshi's Castle, Knightmare, Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? and Fort Boyard.
Alternative meaning
The term Challenge seems often employed as euphemism for covering up a simple political or managerial decision.
For example, the imaginary sentence "To cope with the MBTP (Medium Business Term Plan), increase the timeliness (process quality) and productivity by working smarter (dumb now?) is our challenge!" seems to hide at first sight the information that a simple decision was taken not to hire more staff.
