The Chinese Elm (Ulmus parvifolia) is a type of elm tree native to China. In the United States, it has often been used as a replacement tree for American Elm trees killed by Dutch elm disease. Additionally, hybridization between the Chinese and American elms has led to cultivars that are resistant to the disease, but they do not have the characteristic shape of true American Elms.
