Chubut Province


Chubut is a province in the southern part of Argentina. It was settled by Welsh-speaking Britons during the 19th century.

The largest city, with 125,000 inhabitants, is Comodoro Rivadavia in the south of the province. The administrative capital is Rawson — a small town near northern Chubut's largest city, Trelew. Other important cities are Puerto Madryn, Esquel, and Sarmiento .

The province is divided into 15 departments (Spanish: departamentos).
