The Church of Virus (CoV) is a memetically-based atheistic rational "religion". The Church of Virus founded a mailing list in 1995. Virians actively communicate through their BBS.
The Church of Virus suggests that all self-conscious intelligences carry and transmit memes, but argues that (almost) everyone has the ability and obligation to carefully select the memes they choose to propagate. The Virian religion holds that there are three virtues to strive to uphold, these being: Reason, Empathy and Vision; along with three "senseless sins" to avoid, Dogmatism, Apathy and Hypocrisy.
