Clancy Brown

Clancy Brown (born January 5, 1959 in Urbana, Ohio, USA) is an American actor best known for his role as the Kurgan (a.k.a. Victor Kruger) in the original Highlander movie and as Eugene Krabs in SpongeBob SquarePants. Other well-known roles include Captain Byron Hadley in The Shawshank Redemption, Career Sgt. Zim in Starship Troopers, the sinister preacher Brother Justin Crowe in the HBO series Carnivāle and the corrupt Baron Praxis in the Playstation 2 video game, Jak II and Jak 3.

Brown is the son of an Ohio Congressman and as of August 20, 2002, is chairman of the board of Brown Publishing , a family-owned newspaper business, of which he has been a member since 1987. At 6'4" tall (1.93 m) and possessing a deep voice, he is often typecast in roles of villains. He graduated from St. Albans Prep School in Washington, D.C., and earned a scholarship to Northwestern University. He was inspired as a youth by a neighbour who showed him Shakespeare's works.

He is married to Jeanne Johnson with whom he has two children. He is a collector of animation art and loves to read.
