A conical hat is a simple straw hat common in East and Southeast Asia, particularly in Vietnam, China, Korea, and Japan. As the name implies, it has a large conical shape and is stabilized on the head by a cloth chin strap. Conical hats are used primarily as protection from the sun and rain.
