Consolidated Edison


Consolidated Edison Company of New York (Con Edison, or Con Ed) is a utility company in New York state, USA.

Con Edison is a regulated utility that provides electric service in New York City and most of Westchester County, New York. They provide natural gas service in the bouroughs of Manhattan, the Bronx, and parts of Queens and the county of Westchester.

Con Edison also owns and operates the largest steam system in the entire world. It provides steam service to most of Manhattan.

Con Edison is a subsidiary of Consolidated Edison, Incorporated, which is one of the United State's largest investor-owned energy companies.

It is also famous for having been the main target of the "Mad Bomber" of New York, who blamed his tuburculosis on a work accident there.
