Creativity techniques

Creativity techniques are heuristic methods to facilitate creativity of a person or a group of people.

A random word creativity technique is probably the most simple technique suggested for a problem solving context. In this technique, a person thinking about finding solution for a particular problem is presented with a randomly generated word and then tries to apply the association between the problem and the word in order to devise a solution. A random image, sound, or article can be used instead of a random word, so "random page" link in Wikipedia can be used as a kind of creativity technique.

Generally, most creativity techniques are using associations between the goal (or the problem), the current state (which can be an imperfect solution to the problem), and some stimulus (possibly selected randomly). There is an analogy between many creativity techniques and methods of evolutionary computation.
