DJ Whoo Kid

DJ Whoo Kid is a mix DJ, who self styles himself as "The Haitian Barry White". Based in Brooklyn, he rose to fame after a long stint as an underground mixtape DJ in 2002 after 50 Cent and G-Unit rose to fame, giving him a now syndicated radio show which originally was on New York’s Hot 97.

His music taste tends to lean towards aggressive gangster rap, and his show features many new and unheard tunes. His most recent mixtape was a collaboration with fellow New Yorker, Jadakiss, named Rap The Vote. It consists of a compilation of popular rappers aimed at building on the mainstream success of Jadakiss' last song, "Why".

Whoo Kid, who hails from West Orange, N.J., has certainly diversified. The Queens-raised kid of Haitian parents starting spinning at 16; now, he performs around the world with 50 Cent and on his own. He has shows on a local New York radio station and on Sirius satellite radio. He's also released DVDs and has a clothing line in Japan.
