Debra Fischer is an astronomer at the University of California, Berkeley, where she works to assist Geoffrey Marcy looking for extrasolar planets.

Fischer has co-authored over 1,000 papers on dwarf and sub-stellar mass objects in the galactic neighbourhood, including many on extrasolar planets. She is also a member of Michel Mayor's Swiss team.
