Delonte West

Delonte West (born July 23, 1983 in Washington, D.C.) is an American basketball player for the Boston Celtics.

The 6'4" (1.93 m) shooting guard played for the Saint Joseph Hawks while in college, where he teamed with Jameer Nelson. West averaged 18 points and 4.7 assists per game in his junior season, and shot 41% from the 3-point range. His efforts helped St. Joseph's to go undefeated in the regular season (27-0) and make it to the NCAA Tournament Elite Eight.

West entered the NBA Draft after his junior campaign, even though he probably would have been a serious candidate for the major awards given in college basketball during his senior year. He was selected as the 24th pick in the 2004 NBA Draft.
