Democratic Party of Serbia

The Democratic Party of Serbia (DSS) (Демократска странка Србије / Demokratska stranka Srbije) is a political party in Serbia, led by Vojislav Koštunica, the last president of the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia. It considers itself a conservative party and center-right.

It was a founding member of the Democratic Opposition of Serbia but split from the group in late 2001. In the 2003 parliamentary elections, it took several smaller parties under its wing (NDS and SLS) to became the second largest Serbian parliamentary group, with 53 of 250 seats. In 2004 NDS left coallition with DSS leaving it at 50 seats in the National Assembly of Serbia.

Its leader, Vojislav Kostunica, is currently the Prime Minister of Serbia.
