Democratic Party of Turkmenistan

The Democratic Party of Turkmenistan is the only political party in Turkmenistan. It is led by Saparmurat Niyazov, who in 1999 was proclaimed President for Life. Before 1991 the party was called the Communist Party of the Turkmen SSR.
