Demonstrative pronoun

A demonstrative pronoun is a pronoun that points out the person or thing that is being referred to, and distinguishes it from others.

In English, a demonstrative pronoun may be definite or indefinite. Definite demonstratives are the words: this, that, these, those, one, ones, none, such. They serve the function of pointing to the ancedent and demonstrate how close something is (proximity). Indefinite demonstrative pronouns are these: each, either, neither, everyone, everything, anybody, some, many and one. They function as substitutes for a noun that is understood or implied but they generally have no specific antecedent.
