The Deryni Novels are a series of fantasy books written by Katherine Kurtz, set in and around the fictional kingdom of Gwynedd, which occupies an alternative version of western Europe during the Middle Ages.
The Deryni themselves are a race of humans with magical powers, looked on with fear and awe by most "regular" humans, and the coexistence of the two races creates political and religious conflicts which are the center of the plot of the series. There is a version of the Roman Catholic church which exerts a powerful social and political influence.
Books
The books were written in a very different order than the order in which their events occur. They can be subdivided into five trilogies (one not yet completed), one stand-alone novel, a short story and two collections of short stories, and two reference books.

These are listed in the order their events occur, not in order of publication. Years in parenthesis are the year of publication; years after are the period of Gwyneddian history that is covered in that book.
