Diocese of the Midwest

The Diocese of the Midwest is a diocese of The Orthodox Church in America (TOCA) and is shepherded by His Eminence Archbishop JOB, Archbishop of Chicago and the Midwest. The diocese covers Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, South Dakota, and Wisconsin.

The diocese is the largest episcopate of The Orthodox Church in America. Currently there are five Cathedrals, 56 Parishes, two monasteries, and eleven missions. Sudden growth since the mid-1990s may eventually split the diocese into smaller territorial sees. Both monasteries and a large number of the parishes and missions are located in Ohio, which may most likely become the first new diocese. TOCA will hold the All-American Council in July 2005, which will discuss such issues.

His Eminence JOB was elevated to Archbishop at the Spring Session of the Synod of The Orthodox Church in America in 2004.
