Dominique Dawes

Dominique Margaux Dawes (born November 20, 1976, in Silver Spring, Maryland) is a United States gymnast and member of the 1996 U.S. Gold medal winning women's gymnastics team and also won an individual bronze medal on the floor exercise. Dawes was also a member of the 1992 bronze medal winning women's gymnastics team. In 2000, she was successful in making her third Olympic Team, and traveled to Sydney and finished fourth in the team competition. She is the 1994 National All-Around Champion, also winning all four individual events. Through her explosive tumbling and energetic style, she was given the nickname "Awesome Dawesome." Dawes is now giving private lessons on Sundays at her home gym, Hill's Gymnastics.
