Edward Sorin

Edward Frederick Sorin (1814 - 1893), U.S. (French-born) clergyman & educator; superior general of the Congregation of Holy Cross. First president of the University of Notre Dame du Lac (1844-1865). Founder of the St. Edward's University in Austin, Texas.
